Summer Movie Passes
Need something to do with your kids during the day this summer?
During April and May Belton PTA Council will be selling Dickinson Movie Theatre Passes. The pass is a card of 8 tickets for $10 for the 8-week summer movie series including these movies:
Evan Almighty
Bee Movie
Shrek the Third
Charlotte’s Web
Surf’s Up
There are 16 different movies. Passes are good from June 9 through July 31 at all Dickinson Theatres, Monday-Thursday for two show times (10:00 AM and 12:30 PM). Adults and children 4 years and older must have a ticket.
Passes will be available (cash only):
May 8 from 6-8 at Mill Creek
May 12 from 5-8 at the Belton Freshman Center during the Art Scramble
May 17 from 10-2 at the Grace Earlychildhood carnival.

BELTON PTA COUNCIL ANNOUNCES
STATE WINNERS IN THE REFLECTIONS PROGRAM
The Belton School District had 7 students selected as state winners in the 2007-2008 National PTA Reflections Program. A total of 134 students throughout the district created original works in literature, visual arts, photography, musical composition, dance choreography and film/video production in response to this year’s theme, “I Can Make A Difference By…” Entries were judged at each individual school and the top 3 entries in each category and age division were submitted to the Belton PTA Council, to be forwarded to Missouri PTA and be judged at the state level. The PTA Council sent a total of 45 top local entries to state.
The following students placed in the program at the state level:

3rd Place; Visual Arts Senior Division (Grade 9-12)
Lauren Tinch, 10th grade Belton High School
Honorable Mention; Literature Senior Division (Grade 9-12)
Jenelle Altreche, 12th grade Belton High School
Honorable Mention; Literature Senior Division (Grade 9-12)
Rebecca Fleming, 4th grade Cambridge Elementary School
Honorable Mention; Literature Intermediate Division (Grade 3-5)
Olivia Hurley, 4th grade Kentucky Trail Elementary School
Honorable Mention; Musical Composition Intermediate Division (Grade 3-5)
Carissa Thompson, 4th grade Kentucky Trail Elementary School
Honorable Mention; Dance Choreography Intermediate Division (Grade 3-5)
Zen Dimino-Klok, 4th grade Kentucky Trail Elementary School
Honorable Mention; Film/Video Production Intermediate Division (Grade 3-5)
These students will be recognized for their achievements during the Missouri State PTA Leadership Conference. They will also be given awards from Belton PTA Council and their individual schools.
